Eurostar under pressure to drop its prices

Pressure is building on Eurostar to reduce its prices from April 2025, following a drop in HS1 access charges.

Eurostar is a heavy user of the high speed track between London St Pancras and Ashford, Kent, and has to pay HS1 for the privilege. But the Office of Rail and Road (ORR) has directed HS1 to lower it charges from April, saving money for what is currently the only operator of international trains through the Channel Tunnel.

Accordingly, expectation is growing that Eurostar will pass on some of the benefit to its customers, as advocated in TimeOut.

Bring Back Euro Trains is looking forward to lower prices.
