Evolyn to compete with Eurostar
The Evening Standard brings us hope with a story about competition for Eurostar. Spanish-owned Evolyn has agreed to buy 12 Alstrom trains to put through the Channel Tunnel, for a new service to start in 2025.
But the article’s author, Neil Lancefield, cautions that “other proposed rival operators have been unable to overcome regulatory hurdles”. We also note that there is no talk of stopping in Kent. However, presumabley Evolyn did their homework before sinking £1bn into the project.
