Following the commemorative trip to Calais, Ashford Borough Councillor and BBET core member Diccon Spain offers some thoughts on how Bring Back Euro Train’s campaign embodies the values Liberté, Égalité, and Fraternité. His speech was given at a commemorative event in Calais attended by a cross-Channel group of representatives, see download link below.

The event, organised by East Kent for Europe, also aimed to reignite an interest in twinning and partnerships in Britain’s only former Euroregion, Transmanche, which included Hauts-de-France, West Flanderen, Oost Flanderen(BE), and Zeeland (NE).

Calais is really for the Dragon, the wonderful beaches, Churchill and de Gaulle statues and very much more.
