Q&A with Normandy Ports Director on EES
The new Entry-Exit System (EES) of Shengen Zone border checks will come into force on November 10. Jérôme Chauvet, development and promotion director at the Ports de Normandie, tells The Connexion magazine how it will be implemented in practice at the Channels ports.
M Chauvet welcomes the start date at a quiet time of year, but thinks there will be long queues nonetheless. Car passengers will be registered at the port by members of staff walking along the queue with tablets.
The Connexion is a subscription magazine but a small number of articles are made available for free to newcomers to their site.
