“Next stop Lille”: How the Javelins could be our hope

Campaigners from the group “Bring Back Euro Trains” gathered at Ashford Station on the afternoon of Tuesday, 29th August to greet the newly refurbished Javelin train, called the Rainbow, nicknamed “Trainbow”, writes Charlotte Mbali on Kent and Surrey Bylines. This is the first train to be released back into operation, part of a £27 million contract to refurbish the whole fleet of 29 Javelins, work which is being done at the Hitachi depot in Ashford. The group hopes that it could form a new ‘local‘ service through Eurotunnel. “Next stop Lille!”
Charlotte goes on to explain the importance of the Javelin trains to the Bring Back Euro Trains Campaign. Read her article here
