A doomed love affair with Eurostar

BBET supporter Richard Hunt wrote this article on his train-related substack entitled On Track for Change: Eurostar and I – A Doomed Love Affair. It’s a nostalgic read for those who remember the cross-Channel ferries in the days before the Channel Tunnel, followed by the early, heady days of the shiny new Eurostar.
Hunt’s experience shows clearly how international rail travel from the UK has not only failed to progress in the last decade, but actually gone into reverse. Take your elderly mum to lunch in Lille for the day? Can’t do that any more.
