Passenger demand form response nearly crashes BBET website!
Bring Back Euro Trains formally launched the Passenger Demand Form mid-morning last Friday (19th June). Later that afternoon, more than 1000 people had filled the form and by Friday evening, the responses were coming in such numbers that the website briefly crashed!
This new initiative aims to show cross-Channel rail operators, present and future, how much they will miss out if they don’t serve the Kent stations.
Taking part is simple and quick: simply fill out your ideal journey. If your wish is to travel direct from Ashford International to Marseille-St-Charles, go right ahead and enter that journey in the form. Ebbsfleet International to Disneyland Paris? Add it in. Bruxelles-Midi to Ashford? Go for it.
The form works in two directions so that people habitually departing from an EU station can fill it too.
Pent-up demand
The rush to fill the form illustrates the frustration experienced by travellers to, and from, the south east of England at the loss of their international train service since 2020.
For operators, it should spotlight the pent-up demand from this highly populated corner of England, as well as the money they are losing by ignoring it.
Your choices will generate vital data* which we hope will change their minds, and help us get the Kent stations re-opened and re-used.
Share widely
Please share the form widely among your friends and relatives who are as fed up as you are with the detour via St Pancras. For the data to be meaningful, we need as many journeys as possible.
And be persistent: if two people submit it at the same time, one of them may fail. It’s quick and easy, so just have another go.
*Privacy: the Passenger Demand Form does not request any personal details except a postcode which we need for catchment modelling. The data will solely be used to further the aims of our campaign.
